The Other Side of Ibiza

If you thought Ibiza was all about pubs, clubs and dancing ‘til dawn, think again. It may be famous for its world-renowned night spots and attract a string of top-name DJs who bring the latest tunes to these sunny shores, but as every visitor knows, there is plenty more to Ibiza than meets the eye.

Ibiza holidays come in all shapes and sizes to suit any age or preference. If you like something quiet and tranquil, you’ll find plenty of small resorts along the coast and inland that will suit you down to a T – offering a laid-back vibe with traditional restaurants serving sumptuous Spanish cuisine, and pavement cafes where you can enjoy a frothy cappuccino or refreshing iced tea.

Holidays in Spain are eternally popular with British tourists but that doesn’t mean you can’t find a quiet retreat that ticks all the right boxes. The North of the island is all rolling countryside and hillsides, perfect for hiking, cycling or just a leisurely walk. Resorts such as Puerto San Miguel are an absolute treat – it’s a low-key town with a scattering of restaurants serving traditional Spanish tapas and freshly caught fish, gathered around a quiet bay sheltered by stunning pine-clad mountains.

Families will love the quiet resort of Portinatx – a small holiday favourite with a great beach and a nearby water park, perfect for energetic kids. There’s a local hippy market selling all manners of clothes, jewellery and trinkets, and the surrounding countryside has plenty of trails on offer for walking or cycling. You’ll find a number of restaurants and bars here which come alive at night, but it’s a far cry from the buzz and bustle of Ibiza Town or San Antonio.

Whatever you’re after on holiday in Ibiza, there’s certainly much more to this wonderful island than meets the eye. Why not come and see what all the fuss is about?
