Lenten Season in the Philippines

It is Maundy Thursday here and almost all of the malls are up to 5:00 p.m. only. Yes, during Lenten Season, everyone would commemorate the suffering of Jesus Christ and that includes the procession or way of the cross on Friday. Philippines is known to have more Roman Catholics in all over Asia, and Filipinos are known to be prayerful so during Lenten Season, you could see some of us in penitent. I used to join the procession on Friday, in my experience before, the procession would start at 2:00 to 3:00 a.m., and will finish at 10:00 a.m., I know it is tiring to walk but when you finish it, the feeling of fulfilment is there. It is tiring but fun because I had my two friends with me, whom I got my inspiration of to finish the procession. The Procession or Way of the Cross is the commemoration of the 7 last words.  During Good Friday, every operations must be shut off, malls are closed and offices. After the Way of the Cross, at 3:00 p.m., we would go again to the church for the veneration of the cross. The veneration of the cross is the ceremony to which every person who would come for this ceremony would pay respect to the cross which Jesus was crucified.
