We were so shocked with the news that happened this morning; it was past 8 in the morning when Bohol and Cebu experienced a 7.2 intensity earthquake. The earthquake was so strong that many establishments in Cebu and Bohol were collapsed and even the roads were torn up. Davao City also had the 3 intensity earthquake it is not that strong that I didn’t even feel it maybe I was outside handing the garbage to the garbage collector; I mean I have to walk where the garbage truck is waiting for us. My Facebook was flooded by updates of the status in Cebu and Bohol; many netizens are posting some of the pictures of how devastated the earthquake was. I was surprised that the Sto. Nino Church, one of the oldest churches in the Philippines was also affected. Some parts of the building were damaged caused by the strong earthquake.
This was me when my friend and I went to Cebu years ago, and one of our plans for the day is to visit the Sto. Nino Church, I was even amazed of the beauty of the church when I went there. But due to the earthquake that happened this morning, the oldest Church in the Philippines was collapsed.
This picture is not mine, I just snagged this picture from yahoo (ANC- ABS CBN news) when I was browsing for updates in Cebu and Bohol status. It pained me seeing this picture but even so the faith and belief of the Filipino people will not be shaking, I know GOD will always protect his people.
Philvocs monitored the intensity of each provinces that were also affected:
Intensity VII – Tagbilaran, Bohol
Intensity VI – Inigaran, Negros Occidental
Intensity V – Iloilo City; La Carlota, Negros Occidental
Intensity IV – Masbate City; Roxas City; San Jose, Culasi, Antique; Guihulngan, Negros Oriental
Intensity III – Davao City
Stay safe Filipinos, especially those who resides in Bohol and Cebu, I know we can surpass this all. God Bless Philippines.
